GROWLING SON NYE MICROSHOW

This was fun. Friends from far and wide (and near) braved the flooding and storming of NYE 2022 to get together at our house. My dear friend Gabe, AKA The Growling Son, and my dear friend/roommate Shy, AKA Lemonworm, always chop up some delicious tunes together, and they christened our garage with a short set of Gabe’s best hits. I hadn’t heard these songs played (beyond rough jams) in over 3 years, they’re some of my favorites. I had to capture the moment. Recorded entirely on my iPhone, much of the time spent looming over the room, balancing on a stepstool, I did my best to record it dutifully but there was no way I wasn’t going to join in the 4-5 person mosh pit. Dropped the phone several times, stopped recording for no good reason as often (which explains the lapse in footage). I was worried the whole thing would have lost portions, but our friend Robin thankfully had a recording of the full set. Really happy with the grimey, fuzzy, 60’s psychedelia texture the entire video found in the export process. Gabe is overwhelmed by this angelic, slimey green, and Shy is cast in a ferocious, red gloom as they play, facing off against each other. Music video for Dinosaur by The Growling Son coming soon, hopefully.
