Feld’s other major client was Abbott Laboratories, the medical device and healthcare company. Specifically, we were one of several media teams that worked in their FreeStyle department, which develops digital diabetes lifestyle management software. There was always a ton of work with Abbott, as they needed content for all iterations of their FreeStyle hardware and software. Some parts of the world were only getting the first iteration of the devices, while they were marketing smartphone-compatible systems in the US and UK. Most of our work with FreeStyle was revising, editing, and producing instructional content: Stuff that would come packaged with the device and instruct a user of any age or ability. I mostly assisted in making these legal edits, graphic adjustments, or scratching out VO or rough edits in preparation for deeper work later.
